Abstract

The dynamics of electrical explosion of tungsten wires under water in microsecond times was studied. A new optical method for temperature measurement has been developed. For tungsten, uniform heating took place at 1011  <j(A m-2)< 1012, therefore one can use these regimes for the investigation of properties in the liquid phase.  Temperature dependences of enthalpy, electrical resistivity, and specific heat for liquid tungsten are given and compared with literature values.
